what to expect; I was a part-time poet looking for a platform on which to post/share my work with the world, to bypass gatekeepers and spare myself the proverbial agonies (which all writers go through) of whether/not my work will win the approval of someone who doesn’t know me, let alone care/comprehend my work. Unfortunately, that’s one of the Cinderella stories we’ve been inoculated with to keep us spinning in a creative cul de sac; demoralized, doubting our own talents, and wounded by a 1000 rejections.
Thanks to the inspiration gleaned from my fellow Substackers, and the information I was discovering/uncovering, my work’s subject matter took a dramatic turn and I realized what my mission was: to chronicle what life is like during the one of the biggest psychological operations ever perpetrated on humanity, using poetry as my weapon of choice. This inspired a poem which encapsulated the current situation, as well as offering a potential so(u)lution on how to countermand it…

Long about October 2023, I hit my first milestone of 100 subscribers which felt as if I won the lottery. Since that time, it blew up to where I am now. I still can’t believe it, especially given the types of content I post and the kind of poetry I write, which many of my fellow poet colleagues may find “challenging” to say the least. Nevertheless, I feel I’m in not only in “good company” but the best!
To celebrate this milestone, I’m going to publish a special announcement in the coming weeks, especially since April is “Poetry Month”, so be on the lookout for that. Your posts, connection, engagement, comments and feedback provide a continuous source of inspiration on this poetic journey towards Truth, Goodness & Beauty. I’m extremely grateful for the community we’ve co-created, the conversations we ignite and the relationships we’ve forged.
