When I was a kid I would pick up a maple leaf off the ground and marvel at not just the yellows and oranges but streaks of green and brown. Sometimes there would be black spots and sometimes white spots. True red was rare but a treat. That just left blue and violet out of the picture. It takes a poet to actually see what people just look at.
