Something Is Coming… A Poetry Book Like No Other
In honor of Poetry Month, I wanted to get this out...
Most people don’t read poetry and in a way, I don’t blame them.
From where I am and what I can see, Poetry has been compartmentalized—turned into something delicate, overly personal, or even disconnected from reality. I don’t know anymore; on the one hand I wonder if poets see what I’m seeing insofar as the outside world is concerned and on the other, it seems like anything these days can qualify as “poetry”. I guess there’s a place for everything. Nevertheless, what if poetry could do more? What if it could awaken, unsettle, and reveal? What if it can inspire others to change their lives? What if it can create a new reality than the one we’re all experiencing on this planet?
That’s what my forthcoming book, New Word Order, is about.
It's not poetry for the faint of heart. It’s not for those who are comfortable with the world as it is/where it’s going and accepts as gospel everything being fed to us by the mainstream media (aka the “enemedia”). It’s not for those who implicitly and zealously beLIEve the system we live in has our best interests at heart.
But I can tell you who it is for…
It’s for those who feel that something is off, something is missing—but maybe can’t quite put it into words. It’s for those who see cracks in the system, illusions we’ve been sold, hidden hands pulling the strings and rights turned into wrongs. It’s for those who want to look behind the curtain. It’s for those who beLIeVE in the power of words to create a new reality.
Mainstream poets don’t seem to be talking about these things. Maybe they’re afraid to. Maybe they don’t see it. Maybe they’re too caught up in the narratives they’ve been given. Maybe they’ve been ideologically captured and are loath to admit it. In any case…
This book will not conform!
This book will not whisper. This book will say what finally needs to be said—and to say it in a way that will stay with you long after you’ve closed the book.
A Glimpse Inside…
from an unpublished poem, “20/20 in 2020”
People of the future, remember me. I lived at the time when people “died suddenly”. They lined up at facilities across the world to take their magic potion like people in bread lines during the Great Depression, thinking they were doing their duty to save Humanity and once injected, they’d inevitably fall over one by one causing an even Greater Depression the world has ever known.
This isn’t just you’re run of the (tread)mill poetry. It’s a disruption…an e(motional)ruption.
More details soon.
If this speaks to you, and I hope it does, please stay tuned. If you’ve never read poetry before, maybe this is the book that will change all that. Many fellow Substackers who are now subscribers confessed they’ve never read poetry before until they saw mine and it’s made all the difference.
I hope you’ll join me on this poetical journey of awakening.

I'm excited that you're publishing a book Vic. I believe every poet has their place some, like myself, are soft landings for the fallout. And some like yourself are the disruption before. I know you will stay the course. I look forward to reading your book!!!!
Again, I love the play on words! New Word Order. You have a nimble imagination, Victory.
I have a collection of poems about '2020' and beyond which no publisher would dare touch. Most were written in 2021 and have proven prophetic. I plan to publish them privately. The Collection is called Film Noir. One of the poems will be published in August by a 'mainstream' publisher, which is a daring move on their part.
But what you say is true - no one is talking about the subject. I have seen too many poets with profile pictures of themselves in masks, or with Ukraine flags in their social media profiles. Poetry is obviously not a medium with which to question their reality. The collective mind is largely captured - and what I discovered in my initial foray into poetry. I drank from the collective pool, then found my own voice.
On the other hand, I discovered in 2018 poetry is (or was then) the most read genre. More poetry books sold than even cookery books.
I look forward to your published work with great anticipation!
