How to Manifest Something Back Into Print
or, if you want something that bad, Buy It the Hell Now!
Oh yes! They’re officially in my possession! After TEN YEARS of being out of print, the Hexen 2.0 Tarot cards created by artist Suzanne Treister, are finally back in print. But they’re not just ordinary tarot cards, these are cards that combine alchemical art, conspiracy theories, geo-politcal knowledge, mind-control, technocorporatism, etc. They tell of the things that happened in the past, as well as things that could be in our future.
I first came across this deck around 10 years ago, and I really wanted to buy it. It was retailing around $20.00 - $30.00. And I don’t know why, but I never got around to getting them then. Eventually, I forgot about them. A couple of years later, I thought I’d look them up and pull the trigger on the purchase; and lo and behold, the deck was OUT OF PRINT! Already? Yep…gone!
Ah, no big deal (he said with a deep masculine voice of confidence), I’ll just get it from either eBay, Amazon, Etsy, etc. Holy Hermit, this deck—the few that were to be found online—was now commanding a price of anywhere between $500 - $4500. Yes, $4500! Even at the low end, that was really out of my price range, and I couldn’t bring myself to buy it (even if I could). It was a luxury I couldn’t afford.
So, starting 10 years ago, I launched my campaign to get these cards reprinted. I was, as they say, a “dog with a bone”. I wrote to the original publisher who said they might be reprinting it in the near future. Ok, sounds like we’re moving in the right direction. Then I wrote to several used bookstores, places that sold tarot cards on the off chance they’d still have a deck laying around. Nope, nope, nope.
5 years later, come the plandemic, I got back on my writing campaign to the publisher. This time, no responses whatsoever. In 2023, I wrote to the publisher again; and this time, got a “No - sorry!” response. Finally I said, “that’s it!”, I’m writing directly to Ms. Treister myself. First attempt was in July 2021. It was a modest email, not too gushy, professional sounding and expressing how cool the cards are and whether there was any interest in reprinting them. No response.
Writing to more used bookstores: nope, nada, niente!
Later that August 2023, I decided to try again, but this time, I rhapsodized about the importance of reprinting this deck, the impact it had/will have on art and consciousness, listing out it’s relevance, artistic legacy, education resource, guidance and reflection, and engaging in cultural dialogue. Again, dog with a bone! The cultural detective was not going to give up on this case!
But then after all these years, I thought it’s time to get something going here; a push from my imagination. “WWND…what would Neville do?” Well, that’s when I took a moment before sleeping that night and imagined myself shuffling the cards in my hands, feeling as if I already had them.
Two days later…
“Dear XXXX,
Sincere thanks for this wonderful email.
I can assure you all efforts are being made to reprint the deck.”
How do you spell, BOOOOOOOOOM?!
Aftermath…
June 2024 - release date soon to be announced for November 2024.
December 2024 - email from a new publisher on behalf of Suzanne Treister that the deck is available for pre-order!
2 1/2 hours later…I finally pre-ordered the dang deck!
Morals of this story: imagination really works, and/or if you don’t want to go through all that, just buy that thing you love right then and there.
And if any of you reading this are intrigued enough by this deck, GET IT NOW! before it goes out of print again. BTW, I’m in no way affiliated with the publisher. I make nothing from this. I’m just sharing my enthusiasm for one of the most unique tarot decks I’ve ever seen.
You're killing me! ahahah I think I need to buy this deck. I just bought another one I've had my eye on for a long time, and not this one.
I love the Tarot! Ah, a fellow Tarot connoisseur!
An excellent instance of manifestation, for sure.
I've been in the same boat with purchasing books. I let slip buying opportunities, only to find a book selling for a mere $10 some years back was now selling for hundreds .... thousands.
